Ever since I was a young child I have always had an interest in Photography. One of my Badges at Cubs (Little Scouts) was on cameras and when in Form 2 at Primary School I remember taking miles of Photos on our trip to Wellington (much to my Fathers delight, well maybe). As happens in life sometimes we cannot follow the path that we would like. Now I am at a “Young middle age” I have a chance to follow my Photography dream. I have spent many hours studying, reading books and Manuals and of course taken Courses. My love of Landscapes, Reflections, and the West Coast of New Zealand all come through in my Photos. I have been involved with a small amount of Weddings, involved with photography for Catering and I would like to get into Commercial work. One of my other strong interests is Video. Once again I have spent a large number of hours studying and practising this art and how to combine with Music. Enjoy my Photos. John van der Loo.
John Van der Loo was the photographer for our wedding which took place at our home in Upper Moutere.
We were both very happy with the photos taken, John took full advantage of the surroundings and ensured the photos covered from the preparation for the wedding to the end of the day.
We have a lovely record of the day thanks to John taking a large number of photos covering all aspects of the wedding, and we are very happy that they are all very good quality photos.
We would recommend John to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

John took the photos for our wedding day. He took such a great selection of photos. He drifted round between both the girls & the guys before the ceremony, got lots of relaxed casual photos which perfectly matched the theme of our day. He even came back later on after dinner when the weather cleared to get some more photos whilst the light was good. Nothing was a problem, Johns got a great personality and was very relaxed and happy to go with what we wanted. We got so many amazing photos it was too hard to choose what ones to frame, so ended up doing some collages with them.
